Join Our Free Excursion!

The ECR Program Committee invites you to a free excursion on 11th September 2024 from 1.00 pm to 5:30 pm. Transportation will be provided. Casual attire is recommended. If you’re interested, please fill out the Google Form by 9th August 2024.

Eligibility:
This excursion is open only to early-career researchers (currently in a Ph.D. or Master’s program or within three years of graduation).

Objective:
Explore and appreciate Malaysia’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

Details:

Sultan Abdul Samad Building:
Inaugurated in 1897, this prominent Malaysian heritage landmark is located opposite Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur. It played a significant role in the declaration of Malayan independence on 31 August 1957 and serves as the backdrop for Malaysia’s annual Independence Day parades. It remains a treasured site for both Malaysians and foreign tourists.

Craft Complex Kuala Lumpur:
Located in the heart of the city, this iconic art tourism destination features Malay Terengganu architectural design. It offers a variety of traditional and contemporary arts and crafts from across Malaysia. Developed on four concepts: education, marketing, inculturation, and accommodation, it allows visitors to explore the rich art craft heritage of Malaysian society.

Only those who fill out the form will be allowed to join the excursion. The ECR Program Committee will not entertain any inquiries or requests to join after 9th August 2024 (+8 GMT).
